About the Internship Programme
Chanda Associates is a leading full-service litigation chamber in Kolkata regularly appearing before the Hon’ble Calcutta High Court, Alipore District & Sessions Court, Bankshall Court, City Sessions Court, and various tribunals. We handle serious criminal matters (NDPS, POCSO, Matrimonial Disputes, Sessions Trials, Economic Offences) and high-stake Civil & Commercial Disputes.
This is not a research-only or certificate-only internship. You will work like a junior member of the team from Day 1 and get genuine courtroom and chamber experience under direct guidance of senior advocates.
What You Will Actually Do
- Accompany seniors to court on a near-daily basis
- Assist in ongoing trials, bail applications, writ petitions, and appeals
- Draft petitions, applications, written statements, and legal notices
- Conduct case law and statutory research on live matters
- Attend client conferences and case-strategy discussions
- Learn e-filing, registry work, court-fee calculation, and vakalatnama procedures
- Manage case files and diarizing

Eligibility
- 3rd, 4th or 5th year students of 5-year LL.B OR 2nd/3rd year students of 3-year LL.B
- Fresh law graduates (2024 or 2025 pass-outs) are also welcome
- Strong research, drafting, and communication skills
- Commitment of minimum 4 months (preferably 6–12 months)
- Full-time presence Monday–Saturday (10 AM – 6 PM approx.)
- Strong preference for candidates residing in South Kolkata (Ballygunge, Gariahat, Jadavpur, Tollygunge, New Alipore, Rashbehari, Lake Gardens, Dhakuria, Golf Green, Santoshpur etc.)

Minimum 4 months (extendable up to 12 months for outstanding candidates)
